Me and Jared outside Petco Stadium

Inside...

Watching as Fiji warmed up

Half-time show haka

We have unintentionally begun a tradition in our family. My husband LOVES rugby. His father played with the National Tonga team touring the pacific when Jared was a child and Jared has recently sparked up an interest and began playing himself. Last year we attended the Rugby 7's tournament (equivalent to the Super Bowl for Rugby fanatics) in San Diego and had a BLAST! This year we were almost afraid that our tickets and hotel reservations would be given away because at the last minute our babysitter fell through. After a little rearranging and several phone calls we were luckily able to rely on our friends for some support. We had a great time! Just the two of us, watching as the New Zealand ALL BLACKS smashed through the tournament defeating last years champs. We met people from ALL OVER (Kenya, NZ, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, Samoa, Fiji...) and enjoyed the LOVE that was felt from all fans of this sport as they chanted and sang their teams on the field. It reminded me of my days at Liahona High School in Tonga attending the inter-collegiate sports at Teufaiva Stadium, (remember Goose & Nu ?).
Anyways, it wouldn't have been possible if we didn't have such GREAT friends who were so willing to step in and care for our children while we took a little- "US" time! You are definitely "Friends, who are more like family" and we are so grateful for you all!
We LOVE and THANK you! Next year, though, we'll have to bring you along to this GREAT event, then you'll know what we're talking about.

Sounds like you guys had fun! Next year count us in! We'd love to go out just the two of us...and if it's sports related, I don't even have to convince Unga! :)
